Block Size on LTO3

The documentation that came with my new Quantum M1500 tape library said that the recommended block size for the LTO3 drives that came with it was 256K. As everyone knows, the maximum value in BE 9.1 is 64K. Is there any way to change the block size in 9.1 to 256K? Does BE 10.0 support a 256K block size? Does Net Backup support a 256K block size?

Hi,

Even in BE v10.0 the maximum block size is 64kb.

Preferred configuration settings are used to tune the performance of backup and restore operations.

Note: Changing Preferred Configuration settings is not generally recommended and may have a negative effect on your backup and system performance. Any changes should be thoroughly tested to make sure system performance does not deteriorate before being put into general use.
