Hello, an antivirus scan could be causing this.  If you have an antivirus program running make exclusions for these Backup Exec processes.

the processes to exclude include:

C:\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec\beremote.exe
C:\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec\beserver.exe
C:\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec\bengine.exe
C:\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec\benetns.exe
C:\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec\pvlsvr.exe
C:\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec\BkUpexec.exe
C:\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec\RAWS\beremote.exe
and if you have an Exchange server you can include the Backup Exec temp directory C:\Temp\Backup Exec on the Exchange server

EDIT:  I just saw that you are running Backup Exec on a Windows 2012 Server.  This is not supported.  Backup Exec can protect a remote Windows 2012 server but not installed on Windows 2012.  This configuration will be supported the upcoming release of Backup Exec 2014.

Verify from the following:

  1. you didn't have network connectivity lack during Restore process.
  2. you didn't enable IPV6 in TCP\IP Configuration. {enable IPV4 only}.
  3. Remote Agent is updated.

Hi apomazkin,

Just reiterating:  It is not supported for Backup Exec 2012 to be installed on a Windows 2012 server.  It can protect remote Windows 2012 servers but not installed on one.

Backup Exec 2014 is soon to be released and it has the ablility to be installed on Windows 2012 server.

thanks for you post.

I didn't know about it. BE2012 was deployed not by me.

But most of features and functions of server work fine.
