CPS Journaling

When the Journals get created on the CPA and then get pushed to the CMS, when do the changes take effect? Is it when the file changes it puts it into a journal then pushes that journal to the CMS then commits the changes (then does it remove those old Journal) or is it real time when the file changes on the CPA the CMS file is changed?

Then my next question would be, why do you need the journals?

Thanks.

Eric,

The journals get pushed over in 5 meg increments.  So when the journal on the CPA hits 5 megs it gets transfered over.

The journals are needed because they track all the changes to the files.

Ben thanks for they reply but my question was not what the CPS journals do I already know that my question was when are the changes written to the data store on my NAS box? Per many of the syamntec techs that i have talked to say that they are suppost to be deleted so you don't have a mass amount of these journals which in turn fill up up your dirve then no journals can be wrintten then in turn you journaling runs out of room and the pair will fail.
