Can I backup media from one BE server to another BE server?

My company has 2 BE servers for Windows running 11d.  I'm doing a disk-to-disk backup on server A, and I would like to backup the media created by that D2D job to tape.  Sound simple, but the tape drive is connected to a separate BE, server B. 

Is is possible to create a "remote duplicate" job that can backup a duplicate of the media from a remote BE server to tape?

If I create a backup job on server B that simply backs up the D2D media from server A to the tape drive on server B, will there be an extra step when I attempt to restore this media from tape (e.g. having to restore from tape to disk, and then restore the restored files from disk to the final location)?

The only way for this to work neatly is if the B2D folder(s) are on a on a SAN, and each media server has a SSO Serial Installed

If you just do a backup of the bkf files from the second server, you would need to restore the BKf files to a predefined B2D folder, then inventory, then catalog, then restore
