Hi, i am now applying patch in Backup Exec 2012 Back up server, i want to know can the backup server be restored uisng SDR?
The back up server is connect to a tape library directly, thanks!

Yes. You can restore a media server using SDR.
If your backup set is on tape, then you need to store the .dr file on a thumb-drive and put it in the machine when you boot up from the SDR DVD. You can then use the .dr file to point to your tape backup set.

If you created the disaster recovery disk right after an "SDR" backup then it will pick up the DR file. This might save you some time by not having to utilize the thumb drive.

Is this practical when the user might be doing the SDR backup daily? Isn't it easier to copy the .dr file to a thumb-drive than to create the SDR bootable DVD?
