Can't Restore Very Important Data - Strange Error

K_Y__Iyer

Hi

Final error: 0xa00084e7 - No data error reading from media.

I am getting this strange error while doing a restore of a few files. The files were backed up from a Windows 2000 Server SP3 - and are normal documents - no databases anywhere.

All other backups are being restored properly - from the same tape.

I have an 8 catridge Tandberg SDLT autoloader and am using Sony branded 220GB (native) tapes.

I can't find a single reference to the error number on veritas.com.

What do I do about this? Driving me crazy

Thanks

Iyer

Hello,

Please try performing the following steps:

1. Close Backup Exec GUI and stop all Backup Exec services.

2. Rename Catalogs folder to Catalogs.old

3. Start Backup Exec Services.

4. A new Catalogs folder is automatically created.

5. Run a "Catalog" job on a tape and then try to restore
