Can't install Agent on Windows server 2003R2

When mounting the agents from the server console the process does it correctly but then on the machine with windows 2003, the service is not started and therefore does not contact the console properly.
The same happens to the three servers with w2003.

What is the version of Backup exec ??

Check for compatibility as VEritas BAckup exec stopped supporting 2003 in certain version

It is not supported but in some client is running the w2003 server agent with backup exec 16.

The installation from the console on the server works perfectly, but the agent service does not start.

Need to know if someone has happened to you and if you have any solutions.

Officially if the SCL says it do not support that means they dont work / this is something that Veritas has enabled application if it works in some server that is odd / we need to verify and report the issue to veritas so they can identify the gap and ensure it will be blocked completly. I would rater say your luck to have the server that are working just enjoy backing up until it stops.

As workaround move these to VM or hyper V and backup the VMDK or VHS backup of these server. that way you still protect them with out agent but with VM agent.

If you download Backup exec 15_14.2_fp5. This agent works with BE 16 . Im using it to protect windows server 2003r2 at the moment with backup Exec 16 software.
