Two days ago our Exchange 2003 backup stopped working. We are currently using VERITAS Backup Exec 10.0 for Windows Servers (rev. 5484) and taking full backup of all our mailboxes every night. It has been working just fine, until two days ago when the Microsoft Exchange Server Agent started to "hang" at startup. In the morning when I get to work the backup still says "running" (normally it should be finnished hours ago), but nothing seems to happen (everything else, like SQL-databases and files has been backuped tho). When trying to cancel the job, it just says "cancel pending" forever and I need to go into services and shut down all Veritas services manually (taking along time and Backup Exec Engine gives a "timeout" error when trying to stop it a couple of times before it actually works). Doing this the job actually stops, and I can remove the tape from the tape recorder.
Veritas doesn't give any errors at all, and when checking the job history it just says:

Backup set description: "Backup Weekly"
Backup Type: Full - Back up messages - Reset archive bit
Microsoft Exchange Server Agent: Started

And then just end of file. No errors or nothing to go by.
Anyone knows how to correct this issue?
We don't seem to have any other problems with the server. All mailboxes are working (atleast no one has complained yet) and everyone can send/recieve mail etc.
