Catalog Help...

Hi,

Our company upgrade to BE 10.0 from version 8.6
In the process the old version was uninstalled completed (even deleting the associated files) and did a fresh install of BE 10. Now we need to restore a file that was backed up on BE 8. Our problem is that we can't catalog the tape. We tried other tapes and always the same result (error: V-79-57344-33029 - Error - Mount failed. as first)
Is there any solution to get the catalog going? Should we uninstall BE 10 and reinstall BE 8.6 and then "upgrade"?

Thank you in advance

Did you inventory before cataloging?

is this the same tape device that was used by v8?

Hello,

Please try inventorying and then cataloging the data, deselect the option "use storage media based catalogs" in tools-options-catalog.

Also the file that you are restoring is it a data file?

please mention the exact error message that you receive.

Thanks,

Hi and thanks for the prompt response.

The tape backup unit is the same as we were using with BE8.

The inventory runs and completes without any errors
When we run the catalog, it errors out right away with the following message:

V-79-57344-33029 - Error - Mount failed.

We tried with the option "use storage media based catalogs".

The file we are trying to restore are data files.

Thank you again
