Catalog is running out of harddisk space!

I have a question regarding deletion of catalogs.

If I delete the catalogs, do I delete the entries for Backupsets?
If so, how can I find out which Tape has the appropriate Backups?
We have Tapes only with barcode there is no date on them!

Second question is, we have a disk to Tape strategie, I needed space on the disk and deleted all backupsets, but still 900GB of files left(BEData folder).
What is this? Can this be deleted?

When you delete the catalogs you will not be able to see the backup sets on the console. Of you need to keep track of what is on your tapes then it would be better to move the catalog directory to a disk with more space. You got to tell us what files you have left on the disk. Otherwise, we cannot tell you what to do

You can run a catalog job on the tapes to determine the data on it.  BUE tells you if any other tapes are required for a specific catalog job.
