Cataloging B2D Files

Hi Guys,

This may seem like a dumb question, but what is the best way to catalog B2D files. Basically I had a backup that was no longer in the server’s catalog (it was actually from a completely different machine).

When I inventoried the drive there was about 50 B2D files (1GB each). I went to catalog this media but I found I had to run a catalog job for each B2D file as I could not simple catalog the entire folder.

Does that seem right or am I missing something?

Thanks

You can select all media and choose catalog. But you have to choose Run Now as many times as number of bkf files. And that many catalog jobs will be created and mostly will be queued. Better to catalog one by one....

No.  What you are doing is the only way.

If you have the catalog files from the other server, then you might want to copy then into the Catalog directory and restart the BE services.
