Hi,

I am running Backexec 11D on a windows 2000 server

my full backup is exceeding the capacity of the 8 tapes that are in the drive

so what I would like to do is without stopping the job unlock the drive put the new tapes in do an inventory and a quick clean and then continue the full back up

is this possible and how do I do it!

I have not done a complete full back up in 3 weeks so I am desperate!!

thanks

Unfortunately my experience is with only new tapes (yea cost effectiveness), so if you have to quick erase an old tape I do not know for sure if it would work.

You should be able to unlock, put the new tape in, and run the inventory.  Once the media server sees there is a blank tape, it will continue the job that is paused automatically.
