Cleaning and Foreign Media

Hi

we are using Backup Exec 2012 ver 12.5

i need to know about cleaning media and foreign media. what is the benefit of it.? we are using LTO 5  Tape Drive.

Cleaning media usually refers to cleaning tapes used for cleaning the tape drives & foreign media is media imported from another app ...

By using a cleaning media Backup Exec can help you clean your tape drive/robotic library drives. You must insert a cleaning tape in the drive and run a Cleaning job from Backup Exec.

Foreign media - Lists all media that is imported from a product other than Backup Exec.
