Compatibility between Backup Exec 11d with 10d Remote Agents

Dear Forumers,
If I decide to upgrade my media server from Backup Exec 10d to Backup Exec 11d, will I still be able to backup target servers which are currently installed with version 10d remote agents? Please advise.

Yes, they will work with limited functionality and I highly recommend upgrading as soon as possible. There are issues with 11d media servers running a backup job to a 10d remote agents when system state is in the job selection.. This would cause problems when selecting the entire server.

What is keeping you from upgrading the remote agents?

After you have upgraded Backup exec to 11d you need to reinstall the Remote agents on all the remote servers..

Well, it actually go alot to do with licensing. We backup about 9 server of which 3 of them are running on Windows NT server. Was wondering if it was feasible to upgrade these 3 NT servers (i'm talking about the maintenance fees) as well.
