Compatibility with Iomega REV drives for servers

Kevin_Johnson_4
Not applicable
I am interested in purchasing BackupExec for Windows Servers and I am looking for a good backup drive.

Is the BackupExec for Windows product compatible with the Iomega REV for Servers products?

Specifically, I am looking at the SCSI AutoLoaoder (Item #: 33138) and the 320GB with REV (Item #: 33243).

Any compatibility information you might be able to provide would be appreciated.

Thank You!!!!!

Hi,

Backup Exec does support Iomega Rev drive but not Iomega Rev tape drive.

Please refer this technote:

- VERITAS Backup Exec (tm) 10.0 for Windows Servers Standalone Drives Hardware Compatibility List (HCL)
http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/274347.htm

USB drives are not detected like any other drivers in the Device Manager, you need to create a Removable backup to disk folder.

Iomega REV Drive wont show up in the device tab. To perform backup using Iomega REV drive you need to perform following steps;

1. First the drive should be detected by the windows.

2. Operating system should assign a drive letter to the drive.

For creating a backup to disk folder, refer the following technote:
