Connection to target lost

We are using Backup Exec 15 and all backups are working perfect except two; our two Sharepoint servers. one WSS 3.0 (Windows Server 2003) and one Sharepoint 2013 Foundation (Windows Server 2008 R2). 

Once in a while a backup will succeed without errors/warnings but in 9 times out of 10 (for borth servers) the job fails with the following errors as below. We are not experiencing any network issues that we are aware of.

Not sure BE 15 still supports that older version of Sharepoint - suggest you check the SCL carefully

If it does not it might be an issue with backing up the older version that is affecting the newer one so I would suggest testing with a job ONLY containing the new Sharepoint environment that does not run at the same time as anything to do with the older version of Sharepoint.

In addition to the above, is there any event 1000 logged on the server indicating a BE process crash ?

Well, they are already separate jobs that runs independently from each other at different times but just to be sure I removed the WSS 3.0 server from the server list and started a new full backup job on the SP 2013 server. Still the same. On the SP 2013 server there is just one single log entry from backup exec at all which is three weeks old.

Any other suggestions?

For starters, pls PM me a failed job log along with the Application & Event viewer logs from the BE media server and all servers which comprise of the Sharepoint Farm (web server, DB server etc). Thanks.

If needed, would recommend to enable debugging or log a formal support case.
