Convert Exchange 2010 to Virtual

Nu_Finis
Not applicable

Before I attempt this I would like to know exactly what needs to be selected for backup.  The default setting is everything. Isn't this duplicating the exchange data files ?  Do I need to select all the drives AND the information store, or just one or the other?

Current config: W2K8R2 with BE2014, c:\system 136GB/100 used, D:\data 600GB/400 used, L:\EX Logs 135gb/66used

Thanks in advance

You need to select everything.  Make sure that the SDR light is on before you do the backup.  The Exchange database files would be automatically excluded from the backup.

You also need to backup your Exchange database using the Exchange agent.  After you convert the machine to a VM, you need to do a restore of the Exchange database from this backup.
