Craig,

Is this the same case ("No need to copy the Catalogs folder across, because by running the Catalog job on the tape you're adding the detilas to the other BE server anyway") if I will upgrade my 12.5 to BE 2010 on a new hardware (server)?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Joji,

I branched this into a new discussion.

If you're simply upgrading BE on the same server you'd follow the TN below:

http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH67768

If you're migrating to a new version on a new server, follow the TN below:

http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH67296

As always, grab a copy of the Data and Catalogs folders before doing anything, and once you have upgraded the media server, install SP1 for BE 2010 R3. RUn LiveUpdate as there is a DDI package that was released straight after this. Once done, do a push-install to any remote servers you might have.

Thanks!
