Device & Media Service won´t start

Hello,

we have BE 11d installed on a Win 2003 Server with SP1 and Exchange 2003.

Now, the "Device & Media Service" doesn´t start!

We get the Error 536928979. We have searched in the Symantec DB for solution and found a document 302729. But that didn´t help. We have proved the Regkey that maches and had many times re-installed the BE with different Locations for the SQL, have removed all and started again, but nothing works.

Has anybody some ideas about my problem and can support me?

if you attempt to start the services manually, what errors do you see in the Event Logs?

HI Gerald,

Set all your BEWS services to local system and see if they start up then.
If they do, change them back and make sure everything BUT Remote Agent are set to start up with a domain account.
If they don't start up using the same account, create a new account with the same privileges, and try start them up again.
Failing that, I can only suggest doing a DB repair in BEutility, and if that doesn't work, you're looking at creating a new DB.
Have you also made sure BEWS is fully patched? Anything change on your system to stop that service starting up?
