Is this a new install of BE or an upgrade ?
Is BE 2014 updated with SP1 ?
Do you receive this error while saving a specific backup job or any backup job ?
12-10-2014 12:14 AM
Is a NEW installation (trial; if work i buy license)
Live update is ok. Update installed (from menu):
- service pack 1
- rapid correction 225092
Storage register: a old LinkSys NAS200 (STOR1)
Job:
1 - save a Virtual Windows7Pro system (with VMWare) on STOR1 - OK
2 - save folder on QNAP on STOR1 - ERROR on save

Try removing the QNAP from the Backup & Restore tab list and re-add it. Then, re-try to configure the backup as per this KB - http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH189560
If possible, as a test, try creating a local disk storage and use this as the backup device for the QNAP backup job. Check if you receive the error again or not.
Lastly, what settings did you change/choose for the QNAP backup job ?
12-10-2014 01:44 AM
1 - remove QNAP - OK
2 - enabled Enable Selection of user shares - OK
3 - re-add QNAP (option Sile Server or Server NDMP) - OK
4 - create new job:
SAME ERROR!......
i test backup with the gaunt Cobian (free), it's work......
Please help me
thank's

Can you enable SGMon debugging and attach the logs.
Secondly, do you get the same error if you save the backup job without credentials test and test run ?
Which account have you specified for this backup and is the NAS part of a domain ?
12-10-2014 03:41 AM
Qnap NAS NOT is part of a domain
I use local admin of Qnap
Job result ERROR, with verify credential and no
File log it's correct?

Thanks for the logs. The debug lists multiple errors about unable to connect to the NAS.
Is port 10000 open and available on the NAS ? If this NAS is capable of NDMP, you may have to disable it.
Are you able to ping both ways and does name resolution work fine as well ? Consider adding the NAS (IP and host name) entries to the BE server's host file as well.
12-10-2014 04:48 AM
the BE Server is DNS srv also (ip 192.168.1.110).
in the DNS exist host for NAS01 (192.168.1.250).
The DNS server set on QNAP network setting is same (192.168.1.110)
Ping from BE server reply corectly (IP and hostname)
i already test job with IP and namehost, but result same error.
i don't know if Qnap support NDMP: now, i search on qnap support site.
how test if port is open on QNAP?

Hi
i not found info for QNAP <-> NDMP
For error, have a news?
Thank's

Just out of curiousity. If you change the UI to English, are you able to save the QNAP backup job ? Change the language to English using this KB - http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH23373
There are 2 types of error seen in the log.
-ndmpEstablishConnectionUsingNoSpecificAdapter: Could not connect to remote address 192.168.1.250 and port 10000 Errorno : 10061
- BETCPConnection::LoopThroughListAndConnect: Could not connect to remote address "192.168.1.250" Error:10061.
- ndmpEstablishConnectionUsingNoSpecificAdapter: Could not connect to remote address 0.0.0.192 and port 10000 Errorno : 10051
BETCPConnection::CreateConnectionFromHostAndPort: Could not create a connection to "192.168.1.250" because attempts with both IPv4 and IPv6 protocols failed
- ndmpConnectEx: All attempts to connect to '192.168.1.250' failed
And the second appears later in the debug log:
ERROR: Exception: Error converting data type nvarchar to datetime.
ERROR: Sql Command:
ERROR:CommandType=StoredProcedure CommandText = [Resource_BrowsingUpdateFromList]
This may be a locale issue. Try changing the language of BE first. If that doesn't help, try changing the locale of the OS and maybe the regional time settings.

Nothing to do.
In job Definition, i view any share folder, without error. I can scroll any file an select/unselect it.
On save, i have error (ResourceID is NULL).
Is a good idea If i install BE on Windows Server 2012 ?
I have run out of ideas and time......
Thank's

You can try installing it on a different system, however based on the errors, it seems to be failure connecting to this particular NAS (especially when you are successfully able to connect to other systems and save the backups too)
Its definitely worth a try though to install on a different OS/system.
