We have 2 identical servers, the production server is running W2k Server and Exchange2K. And Veritas 8.6.
We are trying to build a backup machine so that if anything goes wrong with the production server, we could just restore AD and IS from tape to the backup server
and everybody is happy.
We have been trying this for days but things just dont go the way we wanted it to.
Here's what we have done on the backup server
1. Install Windows 2000
2. Install Veritas
3. Restore System Partition and System State
4. Install Exchange 2000
5. Restore IS
Things arent easy, we have been hitting serval problems but we solved all except the last step when we are trying to restore IS with Veritas, we have the error "Connection
to the restore target have been lost". We found many related articles but none solved our situation.
So I am wondering, is there any practice reference for Disaster Recovery for Ex2K with Veritas?
