Disabled user account causes exchange backup to fail

If I disable a user account, then the exchange agent can not access the user's mailbox, and the backup fails. Is there a fix for this design flaw?

Hello,

As you are getting Access denied to Exchange mailbox after disabling the user account,
Which user account have you disabled?
Which is the backup exec service account?
Which account do you use to connect to the mailboxes?

Please elaborate the query to further troubleshoot this issue.

However you can refer the following steps to troubleshoo this issue.
