Does BackUp Exec 2012 BE agent not support RHEL 5.9?

Level 4

We have been stuck for a while, due to the fact that we were running BUE 2010 R3 and the agents on it only supported RedHat EL up to version 5.7.

Am I reading correctly that BUE 2012 doesn't support RHEL 5.9, even though the distro is over a year old now?   Does this mean it also doesn't support CentOS 5.9 (which is an exact binary duplicate of RHEL)?

Is BackUp Exec 2010 R3 ever going to support RHEL 5.9, or is the only 'fix' that Symantec offers is to upgrade to another product?

BE 2012 only support up to RHEL 5.8. See the SCL below http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH175581 CentOS is never supported by any version of BE As for your question of RHEL 5.9 support by BE 2010, Symantec does not publish any support roadmap. That said, support for newer versions of RHEL is more likely to be by BE 2012, rather than BE 2010
