Does using "modified date" affect performance?

I was using the "Archive Bit" setting to backup a linux server. After switching to "Modified Date" the backups are taking twice as long to run. Is this normal?

I'm running Backupexec 10d on a Windows 2003 server, the RALUS 5629 agent and an Exabyte VXA-2 PacketLoader 1X10 1U.

- Are you talking aout Full backups or Incremental/differential Backups?
- What is the Linux Version?
- Did you make any other changes to the Job Properties / environment?
