Driver or service failed to start error on Windows 2003 server bootup

I have installed Backup Exec on several Windows 2003 servers, either versions 9.1 or 9.0. Upon install reboot, a Windows startup error is displayed " A driver or service failed to start." The backup software appears to be functioning properly. After uninstalling Backup Exec, the Windows error is no longer displayed. Unlike other posts related to this error, it is caused by Backup Exec. Anybody have any information on the cause & resolution of this error? Any help would be appreciated as even though I am a reseller & integrator of Veritas products, Veritas offers no support unless a support contract is purchased. I may have to look into competeing product that actually offer support for their reselers.

This error may occur because two device drivers are existing on the server for the same drive. We request you to remove either of the drivers, so that the device is controlled by only one device driver. We recommend installing Veritas Tape Device drivers for Backup Exec application.

Uninstall the existing device drivers and reinstall the latest Veritas drivers. Run tapeinst.exe to install Veritas driver.
"TAPEINST.EXE" is located in the directory x:\Program Files\VERITAS\Backup Exec\NT (TAPEINST.EXE" is an automated installation application for installing tape device drivers )

VERITAS Backup Exec (tm) 9.1 - Device Driver Installer (20050115) - Includes Tape Driver Release (20041231) and Robotic Library Release (45) (Intel Only)

We hope this helps. Let us know if the problem still exists and revert back with the error message.

Found the error "Event ID: 7000 Event Source: Service Control Manager Description: The Network Load Balancing service failed to start due to the following error: The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it." Found the solution in Knowledgebase Article: 263037 (document ID.) This solution removed the startup error displayed after installation of Backup Exec 9.1.
