During backup to disk: 0xe00084ea - End of media was reached

Final error: 0xe00084ea - End of media was reached.
Final error category: Backup Media Errors

For additional information regarding this error refer to link V-79-57344-34026

I try to open the link (http://eventlookup.veritas.com/eventlookup/EventLookup.jhtml?EvtID=V-79-57344-34026) but there document is missing.

Maximum size on the backup to disk space is set to 10GB. Preserve space is set to 10GB. The jobs that fails with this error typically tend to take 15-20GB before failure, some of them even 150GB. There are a lot of overwritable media and the job is set to "Append to media, overwrite if no appendable media is available". Overwrite protection period on the media set is set to 3 days and append to "Infinite - allow append".

One thing puzzles me; a lot of B2D media is overwritable but not appendable (media full). Why is it so, could it be related to this issue that applies to tapes: http://support.veritas.com/docs/274858 (Tape Media is marked as "not appendable" if the Backup Exec Job Engine stops during a backup)? Still should not the "Append to media, overwrite if no appendable media is available" just overwrite one of the B2D media that is overwritable?

Please help me as this is a urgent problem

Hi,

Try setting the disc space reserve to the default i.e. 0 GB and then verify.

Have you tried targetting the backup job to a backup to disk folder?
