Eject or remove tape stuck in HP D2D VLS

Dear Experts,

I have been using Backupexec 2010 with HP MSL 4048,Recently we purchsed a HP D2D backup system .We had created 4 Virtual Drives.

I had encountered a serious problem.During a running job to D2D,my services got restarted .I have a tape stuck in the virtual drive.I need to eject this tape.This drive is becoming offline and i am unable to use this drive anymore for any backup jobs.

Iam looking a solution to remove the Virtual tape from my VLS.I find no option in backupexec as well as HP console to remove it.

Hi,

There is no option in Backup Exec for the same, you will have to stop all Backup Exec services then try ejecting via HP tools or manually remove the same from the device & then restarted BE services

In the VLS you will have a MOVE Tape command, with this command you can move the tape fromt the 'virtual tape unit' to a free slot.
