Are you also installing BEWAC? What are the errors you get in the Windows event logs- appllication and system? Ensure that the account you are using to install backup exec had admnistrator rights. Are you installing from a CD or have you copied the contents of installation on a hard disk?
Check the following steps:
1. Check the properties of the drive on which you are inststalling backup exec. Go to the security tab and verify that the account 'SYSTEM' and 'Administrator' have full control
2. What is your OS? Check for the 'Installer' folder in WINNT and go to the properties tab, security and ensure that the account 'SYSTEM' and 'Admnistrator' have full control there too.
