Error Backup To Disk

aortizma
Level 2

Hi,

on a Windows Server 2008 R2 with Backup Exec 2012 I can't create a new Backup To disk.

I've got a LACIE (on a AD Domain), with a shared folder (BACKUP) with Everyone (Full control).

From server I can access to this folder and create or delete documents, folders ... but when I try to make a new backup to folder I can't (Access denied).

I attach the log from B2D Test:

Hi,

Are you simply backing up to that NAS? If so, and if it has iSCSI, create an iSCSI LUN and present to the media server. From there, create a B2D folder. iSCSI will get around all the permissions issues you might have.

You can also download the b2dtest.exe tool to make sure the NAS is supported as a B2D target, and make sure it is also on the BE 2012 HCL.

Thanks!

My LACIE is a Ethernet Disk, with a xp inside. It's like a XP where I share some folders, but there isn't LUN's

The log that I send in my last post is the log from b2dtest.exe. As you can see, it fail in Default B2D Configuration

It looks like it is dropping the connection to the NAS. Have you added the B2D in as: \\IP_Address\ShareName?

Yes.

I can access by \\IP_ADDRESS\SHARED_FOLDER from server

I attach b2dtest log

If the b2dtest fails, it means that the disk is no suitable for disk storage

Ok. But when I installed BE2012 first time the connection was established and I could make backup a few days, but then ..... ERROR

Try making another b2d folder on a local drive as a test.  Is this successful?  Verify your services are running as described below:

  • Backup Exec Agent Browser server: start up type - Automatic and logon as Domain\Username
  • Backup Exec Job Engine Service: start up type - Automatic and logon as Domain\Username
  • Backup Exec Server Service: start up type - Automatic and logon as Domain\Username
  • Backup Exec Device and Media service: start up type - Automatic and logon as Domain\Username
  • Backup Exec Remote Agent servicestart up type - Automatic and logon as local system account
  • SQL Server (BKUPEXEC) - Automatic startup and log on as Local System account
