Error a000846b - "error occurred while connecting to Remote Agent "

Problem:
We get this error message 5-10 seconds after the job runs or is TESTED. It craps out and never even starts to back up.

Server Setup:
One Smal Bus Server 2003 server backing up local drives onto 80gb tape drives which have worked for a year now.

Error:
Completed status: Failed
Final error code: a000846b HEX
Final error description:
Device could not be backed up because an error occurred while connecting to Remote Agent for Windows Servers.
Make sure that Remote Agent for Windows Servers is running on the target system.

Additional Info:
I recently changed our administrator password and that seems to be about the same time (4 days ago) that a backup ran successfully. i restarted the Backup Exec Remote Agent service and the service that depends on but it still failsNothing helpful on the veritas website.

- For the Test Run errors, check this:

- As you recently changed the credentials, apply this:
http://support.veritas.com/docs/254239

- If the issue still occurs, check the remote Agent status on job failure. If it crashes, launch a Backup Exec repair process.

Hello,

In addition to the earlier reply please check under network logon accounts if the new password is updated.
Then restart the services of BE, also try creating an new backup job and then verify the result.
