Error code a000848c

Ok we have to large storage snap drives... that contain data which is requied to be backed up. now because they are not PC's I cannot have he agent services running. The passwords are fine it just keeps throwing this error and saying:

"Media servers cannot completely protect remote
Windows-based servers or workstations unless the Backup
Exec Remote Agent for Windows Servers is installed
and running on each remote Windows-based server or
workstation to be protected. Data loss can occur if the
Remote Agent for Windows Servers is not running
while backing up remote Windows-based computers."

I can back other network locations up perfectly and without issue but they are servers and not network storage devices

any suggestions?

Hi,

To perform a backup operation of the snap server, create a user defined share in Backup Exec for Windows NT and perform the backup through that share.So remote agent does not actually need to be (and may not be) installed on the SNAP server .
