Hi,

I'm Luca. I have SBE 12.5 with the last updates.

I notice this while doing the backup:

Error e0008445 ..... The media operation userwas terminated by the user

and and it tells me that he will try a cleaning.

What does it mean? Was I wrong to set up the job?

When was the tape drive last cleaned ? Clean the tape drive first and then rerun a backup job.

Is it normal that we use so much time to do the cleaning?
It is of 25 minutes that runs and is fixed at 91%. It got stuck?

If the library asked to be cleaned despite being just cleaned then it needs to be replaced. To confirm the hardware error, run the manufacturer's diagnostic utility against the tape drive. Make sure you have stopped all the BE services beforehand and select the write test.

I have installed the hotfix but I have the same error.

There is another workaround, but i would instead recommend to run a cleaning job via the library interface itself. Does the cleaning job then complete successfully ?

Yes completed. Woth the fix I resolve this problem.
