Error loading network drivers during IDR 11d

Bernd_Schlaupit
Level 4
I try to use the IDR Function on a HP DL 380 G5 Server.
The BackupExec Release is 11.0.7170 und Windows 2003 Server Service Pack 2.
I created a bootable IDR-CD-ROM.
After launching the iDR Wizard I try to install the Netowrk.
This fails, the network devices will be recognized, but the IDR Wizard is not able to load the drivers.
Then I downloaded the latest drivers from HP and tried to use them by using a USB Stick. This fails also, with the same error message.

The content from the bedrwiz.log is the following:

Can someone help me there?
I'm not sure what's wrong.
Do I have to use different network drivers?
Is there any possibility to integrate them into the IDR-CD-ROM?

Thanks for your help.

The above poster is correct.  Install all available hotfixes and update your IDR media.

I tried this, installed the latest patches, re-created the IDR CD-ROm new, but I wasn't able to load the network drivers.
The logoutput is the following:

"Error loading driver for the device: Network Bus Enumerator"

Did you try to load broadcom network drivers from floppy ?? Not from DELL site but unpacked from broadcom's installation files..

Bernd_Schlaupit
Level 4
I tried this. I extracted the drivers from the original Broadcom Installation Package and used it in the IDR Wizard.
The Network Enumerator Device was successfully installed after using the VDB driver, but the network cards itself are not working.
If I press the button <Install Network> I receive the message "No network adapter card found".
If I proceed, I'm also not able to connect to the network.

How should I proceed now?

I have no DELL Server, I use HP DL 380 G5 Servers.

Are you trying to restore client backed up without all new hotfixes from updated server ? If yes - I think that restore will be impossible because IDR hotfixes fix not only server's part of IDR but also client's. But it should to be confirmed but someone from Symantec..

No, I try to restore the Media Server.
The Backup was performed on a Backup-To-Disk Device.
I want to connect through the Disaster Recovery Procedure, by using an actual (with all patches created) bootable IDR CD-ROM, to a remote backup-To-Disk Folder.

But my first problem is, that the network is not working overall on the HP DL 380 Servers.
It seems the network drivers will not be accepted and I don't know why.
Exact the same drivers are working in the Windwos 2003 Server Instalaltion without any error.

It doesn't matter if you restore Media Server or Client over the network.. If you backed up this server without hotifex - drivers for Broadcom and IDR information was not properly transferred to the server so your boot CD cannot detect network environment properly...
So.. install Windows, install BE Remote Agent adn restore server over the network..

If I install first Windows, then the Veritas Software (Server or Agent) and bring then back the backup, I do not need the Disaster Recovery Option, isn't it?
In this case I have to install and configure all manually, which will be done completely automatically through IDR.

My prefferred strategy is to use the IDR Option for local restore (by using locally attached tape device) as well as through the network (by using a remote Backup-To-Disk Folder). Reading the Feature Description this should be possible, but it is not working.
Can someone tell me why?
