Error trying to install 9.1

The installation almost finishes and then fails with the following error:
Product: VERITAS Backup Exec for Windows Servers -- Error 1935.An error occurred during the installation of assembly component {303994BA-6487-47AE-AF1D-7AF6088EEBDB}. Hello Barry,
To resolve this issue, perform the following:

1. Copy the installation folder from the CD on to the local disk
2. Open the VxSDM folder inside the installation folder
3. Double-click on setup.exe, to install VERITAS Update
4. Reboot the server after the installation of VERITAS Update
5. After reboot, perform the installation of Backup Exec

Tried this and it did not work. Could not wait 4 days for support from Symantec. Wound up uninstalling product completely, running a reg crawler to remove the orphaned registry entries and reinstalling from scratch.
