Error when IDR Installed

We are using Backup Exec 10.d with SP1 and have IDR installed. For the first month backups went as planned. Now though backups fail with error:

Final error: 0xe00084f4 - An unknown error has occurred.
Final error category: System Errors

When we uninstall IDR then backups run smoothly again. We are using an HP Ultrium tape backup with the Symantec Driver for it. All services are running under the administrator. Please help with any thoughts or ideas

Does this error occur during tape backups?

If so, do the backups work on a Backup to Disk folder?

Yes, the backup errors occur during a tape backup but they are not backup to disk folders.
