All,

I tried to upgrade 11D Build 6235 with HotFix 2, 6, 8 and 11 installed on my media server to the new Build 7170.

No errors during the install. On reboot, the BE services refused to start. I had the following errors in the event

Having previous experience with Backup Exec upgrades, I did save the data and catalog folders. I searched the knowledge base, found a few of the version mis-match errors but was unable to resolve the issue.

I had to completely uninstall 7170 and go back to 11D, Build 6235.

The reason for the post, a warning and possible advice on the next attempt.

Thanks.
