Event Log Error 18272

We are having intermittent problems with veritas hanging. The following error is shown repeatedly in our event viewer. I would be very grateful if someone could let me know what this means.


18272 :
I/O error on backup or restore restart-checkpoint file 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL$BKUPEXEC\backup\master4IDR.ckp'. Operating system error 3(error not found). The statement is proceeding but is non-restartable.
