Exchange Backup-To-Disk Query

Hi,

I have recently installed BE 11d with exchange client and have created a job to backup the local Exchange 2003 server. The Job backs up to a local disk device then a subsequent job duplicates the backup set to a removable drive.

I have “Enable the restore of individual mail messages and folders from information store backups” checked and this appears to create a new IMGXXXXXX folder every night.

The problem I have is that the job is set to overwrite and does yet these folders keep building up on the local drive and will soon fill it. Does anybody know what I can do to overwrite this file and not create a new one each evening?

IMG folders are special ;) - What you are seeing is normal, so if you don't want them to fill your disk you need to work around it. Have a look at http://www.backupexecfaq.com/articles/problems/img-folders-do-not-follow-media-set-rules.html for more info.
