Exchange Granular Restore - virtapi.dll

OS: Windows Small Business Server 2011

BE Version : Backup Exec 2010 for Small Business

Hi, I have the following error when I backup to disk the Exchange Information Store with Granularity enabled:

Code: 0xe00002f7

Error: File virtapi.dll is missing.

I have tried to Reinstal the program, still the same. Search for the dll, not found on the server. What else can I do?

Thanks, but I've been struggling with this issue for a while, and have already tried 1000s of these documents...

Solution 1:

1. Verify if the Exchange agent license key is installed. SMALL BUSINESS VERSION --> INSTALLED

2. If installed remove and reinstall the Exchange agent license key from Tools -> Install options and license keys on this media server. EVEN REINSTALLED COMPLETELY THE PROGRAM

3. Retry the backup. SAME ERROR

Solution 2:

1. Check the default account of Backup exec from Network -> Logon accounts.

2. Check if the following pemissions are met:

• Backup account should be a member of Local administrator group and Backup Operators group on both media server and exchange server. CHECKED

• Account should have Exchange Full Administrator role( Exchange 2003) / Exchange Organization Administrator role (Exchange 2007). CHECKED

• Account should be Unique and should have an active mailbox. CHECKED

• Mailbox of the account should not be hidden in Exchange address lists. CHECKED

3. Retry the backup. SAME ERROR
