Since we did this we havent been able to run a backup of the exchangeserver cos the infostore is missing in the selection list.

Ihave tried a couple of solutions i got on this forum but it didnt solve the problem.

What is your Exchange and Backup Exec version ?

For example Exchange 2010 is only supported with BE 2010/R2 & R3.

Few technotes to refer;

http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH125832 : Backup Selection for Exchange 2007 Information Store, has some Storage Groups missing and/or a group as a "blank" name or listed as the "Server name"

http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH71327 : Unable to see Exchange 2007 Information Store when browsing the backup selection list on a local Small Business Server Windows 2008

http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH65722 : Unable to view the Information Store icon for an Exchange 2007 server under the backup selections in Backup Exec for Windows Servers version 12.5.

http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH33754 : The Information Store is not visible in the backup selection list.

If these technotes do not resolve the issue then I would suggest you can provide detail information about the version of Backup Exec and also about version of Exchange and the environment in which it is setup.

Thanks,

And your Backup Exec version ?

Make sure to install the Exchange 2007 Management tools (same version as on the Exchange server) on your Backup Exec server !

Check the version of mapi32.dll of the Exchange server.

Verify the version is the 64-Bit version using the Dependency Walker tool for each .dll file listed below by making sure it displays "x64" under the CPU column (Figure 2):

Files to check:
bedsxchg.dll
bedsxese.dll
bedsmbox.dll

If the 32-Bit version is listed, replace with the 64-Bit version which can be found on the Microsoft Exchange 2007 installation disk or by re-downloading the MAPI/CD. Note that for MAPI to load correctly, the version of MAPI32.dll under c:\windows\system32 should match the version of MAPISTUB.dll under the same folder.
If that is not the case, download the file attached at the end of this article. Uncompress the folder and copy the dll files in the c:\windows\system folder replacing any existing version.

Restart the Remote Agent service on the Exchange server.

Refer to this technote " http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH58430 " as we have seen lot of issues resolved with this.

Thanks,

Make sure to install all available patches in Backup Exec with LiveUpdate.
After the installation, push the agent again to the remote server to make sure it is updated too.
