Hi Folks,
I'm running Backup Exec 12.0 Rev 1364.
I'm having an issue when I try to setup/modify a backup job using the "Edit Schedule Details" option. When I select that option, the error "External component has thrown an exception" pops up and the whole app freezes. I have to use task manager to kill it.
I've tried re-registering the PVCALANDER.OCX file and restarting all the services per the document 302050,
http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/302050.htm
But that didn't fix the problem.
Any other magic tricks I can try?
Still pretty new to Backup Exec. :)
Thanks for any help!

I am having the exact same problem. I cannot modify an existing job at all - I must delete it and create a new one.
If I do any of the following to try to modify the job:
Double Click the job name,
Right Click > Properties
Choose the job of the schedule on the Calendar window
I get the error:
External Component has thrown an exception.
Stack Trace:
at BackupExec.UI.BEDlgs.JobListShowProperties(Guid guid)
at BackupExec.UI.Data.JobInst.OnProperties(Command command)
OK
Any ideas?
