I am getting this strange error while doing a restore of a few files. The files were backed up from a Windows 2000 Server SP3 - and are normal documents - no databases anywhere.
All other backups are being restored properly - from the same tape.
I have an 8 catridge Tandberg SDLT autoloader and am using Sony branded 220GB (native) tapes.
I can't find a single reference to the error number on veritas.com.
As I cannot find the option to add any attachments to this, here is the job log HTML. Hopefully, you can make some more sense out of it.
Thanks
Iyer

Such errors usually occur when the media is bad. To isolate the cause of issue, perform following steps: 1. Clean the device 3 to 4 times as per the manufacturer's recommendation and if required, reboot server and recycle power on the drive to clear the error. 2. You can try using a fresh media. 3. Make sure that the tape device is upgraded to the latest firmware. 4. Try erasing the media. 5. Perform the backup with Windows native backup utility NTbackup and observe the result. You can restore this job and check if it works.
Install the latest Veritas drivers: http://support.veritas.com/docs/273853
