GRT for Exchange mailbox restore

I have upgraded my BE from 10d to 11d and have all the relevant patches applied.
I do backup of all servers including exchange directly to tape. In 10d we used to do brick level backup of mailboxes as well. Now with 11d the option available; I have checked the box "Enable the restore of individual mail messages and folders from Information Store backups". I have unchecked the legacy option.
My question is does GRT support restore of individual mailboxes if the backup is being done directly to tape. How does the restore work. Or is that GRT works with only backup to disk and then to tape.

Hi there

Yes GRT does support restore of individual mailboxes if the backup is being done directly to tape.

It will be slower however as the entire DB is restored to disk first. So you will have to make sure enough disk space is available as well.
