How to backup from tape to tape

hi,

I have a silly question, as it sound so silly.
i want to know can we backup data from tape to tape, like i have the following scenario:
We are doing "Daily Differential" and "Weekly Full" for Data and Exchange;
As Monthly takes long time to backup both for exchange and data, i was thinking to backup weekly data/exchange to monthly tapes from tapes without interfering the network.

is it possible or its totally ridiculous soultion to think about.

Doesnt sound silly! And I have no idea if you can, but...........................
I see your problem, and it is a similar problem to the one that I have had.

My solution was to buy a decent external Hard disc, and back up the monthlies to that. I have eneded up with 3 discs eventually to retain quarterley and yearly backups. Works a treat and cost me <�400 to do. Discs are then stored off site except for when they are required, and on USB2.0 they back up really quickly too (around 55GB in 3.5hrs including exchange)
