HP 8 tape Storageworks with 960 drives. Re-labeling media.

Hello,
I have a HP 8 tape Storageworks with 960 drives running on Windows 2000. I am able to successfully complete backup jobs. After the tape is full I eject the tape and move it to another location. The problem occurs when I need to restore a file. I reinsert the tape back into the tape unit and backup exec immediately begins to re-label the tape causing me to lose the data on the tape. Any ideas why this all of the sudden started happening?
