Linux - you can't be serious?

Hello,

My company bought some RALUS Linux agents because it seemed that Linux was supported by Backup Exec (specifically the Linux distrbution, Red Hat, that we use).

However, the meaning of "supported" has to be re-defined to fit into Symatec's use:

- We haven't been able to find any good documentation on software
requirements for the Linux-RALUS. And: What firewall ports need to
be open (in which directions), for which protocols?

- The install script seems to try to communicate with rsh(!).
I thought Symatec was about data security?

- In some forum message, I saw something about a "-usessh" switch. However,
that failed, with some bogus message about not being able to find /bin/rpm (which
is clearly there)

I'm about to recommend that we don't spend more time on RALUS and find other solutions. Is there something I have overlooked?

Which version of linux are you using?

Please refer the scl to verify it's compatibility with BE v10d.
