Hi,

You can use RALUS to backup the HP-UX systems. BE supports HP-UX 11i (32 and 64 bit) OS.

As per the software compatibility list for the version 10.0 of backup Exec HP-Unix is not mentioned in the compatibility list for the RALUS agent but HP-Unix can be backed up using the legacy agent which can be downloaded from the support site which is http://support.veritas.com The link for the dowload is:

HP-UX is very clearly mentioned as a supported platform in the BE 10 compatibility list for RALUS.

There are only two version of HP-UX supported by the LEGACY agent for unix. HP-Unix is NOT supported by RALUS agent. For this please refer to the software compatibility list:

We request you to kindly refer to the SCL at the link mentioned above also. We also would appreciate you not giving misleading information on a moderated forum.
We are pasting here a short extract of the SCL relevant to the RALUS agent compatibility. NOWHERE is HP-UX mentioned in the supported versions in the compatibility list for the RALUS agent.

The customer is asking if there is an agent to backup HP-UX machines.

Now OPEN UR EYES and look in to the SCL. There is HP-UX mentioned there clearely. You can back it up usin the LEGACY UNIX agnet.

If u cannot handle simple queries like this then I think u should go back to training and get ur fundamentals cleared up rather than buggging people by sending such stupid posts.

Please understand that there are several flavours of UNIX's. HP-UX just happens to be one of them. Likewise there is Solaris also.

Please refrain from abusive language on the forum, We have been insisting on the fact that HP- Unix can be backed up using legacy unix agent and is not supported in the RALUS agent for BE 10.0.

Now you plese re-open your own eyes and check the compatibility list as well as read the replies given by us earlier on this forum.

YOU are the one person who has been insisting repreatedly that our RALUS agent can be used to backup HP-UNIX agent. THIS ANSWER YOU ARE GIVING IS WRONG. So please keep your 'Technical Competance' and the urge to express it SO FREELY at Bay.
