How can I restore files from a Veritas 8 or 9 backup?

Hi I just want to recover some data from a Backup made with Veritas 8or9 on a SBS2000 server that no longer boots, with my new SBS2003R2 server and Veritas 11d. I have tried importing the backup, opening media sets and anything i could find that looked likely, but no joy. Can any one point me in the right direction please?

I don't beleive that it is not backwards compatible, all those people with yearly backups would have to throw them away otherwise, If no-one can give you a response to this then all I can suggest is install the old version as a demo.

As long as the tape drives are compatible, all you should need to do is

Insert the tape
Inventory
Catalog
Restore
