How different from 10d?

I am running BE 10d on SBS 2003. Does the new version 11d build on 10d, or is it a new program? Does it maintain the same user interface? What would be the main reason to upgrade?

My dissatisfaction with 10d is that I have never successfully created a disaster recovery set (the process failed in 10d), and I suspect I cannot recover specific files or e-mails. It seems to be all or nothing. Or am I wrong? Has this changed in 11d?

Also, in 10d, I cannot backup to a network storage device, accessable through ftp (at least I don't think I can). Does 11d support this?
