How do I run a cleaning job using Backup Exec 10d Quickstart Edition

I use Small Business Server 2003 SP1 as my platform and the tape drive is a Sony SDX 570V AIT2 Turbo Drive.

The drive LED states that I need to run a cleaning job, for which I have a cleaning tape. I cannot see anything in the command panel for running such a job. The on-line help refers to configuring a robotic library before a cleaning job can be run but, although I have robotic library support installed, all robotic tasks are greyed out.

Help!

Further, when robotic libraries is highlighted in the devices menu, I notice that under Drive Tasks on the left-hand panel, Clean is also greyed out.

Hi,

Cleaning jobs can be run only for robotic libraries and autoloaders.

It seems you are using a standalone drive. To clean the drive just insert the cleaning tape which you have got, the drive will be cleaned automatically.

There's no action needed from the Backup Exec side.

The options which you see are greyed out because they are meant for libraries only.
